Seng Lor

Seng Lor is a sophomore studying vocal music education at St. Olaf College and is currently studying voice with Emery Stephens. On campus, Seng has sung in the Viking Chorus, Chapel Choir, and will be singing in the St. Olaf Choir in the 2021-2022 school year. He was born in Thailand in one of the last refugee camps, Wat Tham Krabok in 2001 and came to the United States in 2004.

Seng is a first generation student and the oldest child out of four. His passion for music came to be in high school when he first joined choir. The positive experience in the choral setting since then encouraged him to chase his dream of being a choir teacher. His aspirations and goals is to start a Hmong Choir in the twin cities and encourage the Hmong community to participate in choral music, hoping that choral music will pass on the Hmong language to the future generations. In his free time, Seng likes to karaoke, write poetry, and play badminton.
