Jane Turpin Moore
Jane Turpin Moore is a freelance writer and collaborative pianist with decades of experience writing, performing music and mentoring young musicians. After beginning her career in corporate communications at General Mills, she directed the Carleton College alumni relations program before moving to Worthington, Minn., in the mid-1990s. In the fall of 2020, she and her husband relocated to Northfield.
Jane is a frequent contributor to several area news publications while also prioritizing music. Whether accompanying for church choirs, middle/high school orchestras or choirs, choral festivals, musicals, MSHSL solo/ensemble contestants, instrumental or vocal soloists, youth choirs or chamber groups, Jane is at all times an enthusiastic advocate for music involvement and education.
Her community volunteerism has included service on the boards of the Minnesota Humanities Center, Historic Dayton House, Northfield Arts Guild, Memorial Auditorium Performing Arts Center and Manna Food Pantry, among other organizations. For 10 years she was a Level II judge for Letters about Literature, and she served Carleton College as an Alumni Admissions Representative for over 23 years.
Jane holds a B.A. in English from Carleton. She is delighted to have another avenue for arts advocacy--and specifically art song--with Source Song Festival.
