Kathryn Rupp

Kathryn Rupp is a soprano based in St. Paul, Minnesota whose vocal versatility, skilled technique, and intimate artistic expression bring a fresh feel to the stage. In 2022 she participated in the Source Song Festival in the Twin Cities and the same year placed second in the 2022 Edvard Grieg Society of Minnesota voice competition. In October 2022, Kathryn also had the pleasure of performing with the Southwest Minnesota Orchestra under the baton of Daniel Rieppel.

While earning her Masters of Music degree at the San Francisco Conservatory of Music, Kathryn has performed various lead roles such as Teofane in Handel’s Ottone as well as Rosalinda in Johann Strauss’s Die Fledermaus. Other notable roles include Gretel in Hansel and Gretel (Savannah Voice Festival, 2018); Echo in Ariadne auf Naxos (Berlin Opera Academy, 2017); Barbarina in Le Nozze di Figaro (Prague Summer Nights, 2017); and Dew Fairy in Hansel and Gretel (2017) and Venus in Venus and Adonis (2016), both with Simpson College.

Kathryn finds great joy in collaborating with musicians across many different styles and has a deep love for new music. When she is not performing on an operatic stage, Kathryn sings as both a soloist and soprano section leader of the Plymouth Congregational Choir under the direction of Philip Brunelle. Kathryn earned a Master of Music degree from the San Francisco Conservatory of Music and a Bachelor of Arts degree from Simpson College.
