Lucas Zuehl
Lucas Zuehl is a Bass-baritone pursuing an undergraduate degree in Vocal Performance with a minor in Creative Writing (emphasis in Poetry) at Brigham Young University. The fusion of these two subjects in vocal music particularly inspires him. He is a staff singer at the Cathedral of Madeleine and also sings with Los Angeles Master Chorale, BYU Singers, and Santos Chamber Singers. Lucas was in the Voces8 US Scholars, a program in which he spent 4 weeks recording, performing, and doing educational outreach in the United States alongside Voces8. The last two summers, he was a vocal fellow in the Spoleto Festival USA Chorus. He cultivated a passion for German Lied at the Franz-Schubert-Institut in 2023, where he studied with many experts in the genre including Elly Ameling, Robert Holl, Julius Drake, Andreas Schmidt, Roger Vignoles, and Richard Stokes. His awards include the Roy Samuelson award and Clayne Robison award from the BYU Young Artists Competition. At BYU, he studies under Dr. Jennifer Youngs. In his free time, he loves to read and hike in the mountains around Provo, Utah.
