Mikayla Rogers

Mikayla Rogers, a native of Rapid City, South Dakota, is pursuing a Doctorate of Music in Collaborative Piano at Florida State University. Mikayla’s desire to perform and learn in different settings has taken her to numerous summer festivals, including Music in the Marche in Mondavio, Italy, where she studied opera coaching, and the American Institute of Musical Studies (AIMS) in Austria, where she studied German lieder. She has also attended the Trentino Music Festival in the Dolomites of Italy to learn and perform Richard Strauss’s Ariadne auf Naxos with Maestro Christopher Larkin. She has participated in masterclasses with Elvia Puccinelli, Liza Stepanova, Shiela Kibbe, Vadym Kholodenko, Jeffrey Swann, Gary Matthewman, and Barbara Bonney. Mikayla received her Bachelor’s degree in Piano Performance at Northern Arizona University under the instruction of Dr. Frank Scott, her Master’s in Accompanying at Florida State University under Dr. Timothy Hoekman, and is currently studying with Valerie Trujillo. After studying with world-renown musicians, Mikayla has applied her experiences to her professional duties of teaching aspiring undergraduate musicians as a Graduate Assistant at Florida State University. Mikayla hopes to further her skills to help her improve as an instructor and continue teaching and coaching young, aspiring musicians at the university and beginner levels.
